A ludicrous plot, designed to cash in on Williams' rather specialised talent, sees her and her Arkansas family preparing for a cross-channel swim. Arthur Schwartz and Johnny Mercer's songs are pleasant enough, as are the performances; but the highlight of the humdrum proceedings is the sequence in which Esther swims with Tom and Jerry.Author: GA
