The Diamond Mercenaries (1975)
Director: Val Guest
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
'Is that Miss or Ms?' Savalas asks of Adams. 'That depends on the man,' she replies. In other words, we have here an old-fashioned adventure given the veneer of modernity. The crooks planning the desert heist are Vietnam veterans rather than league of gentlemen; but in other respects we're back in the world of Val Guest hokum (Savalas wanders about showing off his wardrobe, you don't quite get to see anything in the bed scene, all the interiors are in medium-shot). Still, the robbery is a smart piece of editing, the desert looks handsome, and Christopher Lee staggers around in it wearing khaki - a rare delight.Author: AN
