Días Contados (1994)
Director: Imanol Uribe
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A slick contemporary thriller loosely inspired by Carmen (really very loosely: Gomez is an ETA terrorist and part-time photographer, Gabriel a junkie prostitute). Uribe keeps threatening to take it somewhere interesting, but never really gets there - the terrorist background feels opportunistic and the characters don't have lives of their own. What's more, the director's penchant for photographing women naked from the waist down is unalloyed voyeurism.Author: TCh
