Donovan's Brain (1953)
Director: Felix Feist
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Curt Siodmak's neat horror/sci-fi novel, about a human brain which is brought back to life after an air crash, was first filmed by George Sherman in 1944 as The Lady and the Monster, and remade by Freddie Francis as Vengeance in 1962. This version (sticking closest to the novel), scripted and directed by a rather obscure film-maker who subsequently went into television, is modest but effective, distinguished by an excellent performance from Ayres as the well-meaning scientist taken over by the vengeful brain.Author:
