Don't Get Me Started (1994)
Director: Arthur Ellis
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
First shown at Cannes under the title Psychotherapy, this British Film Institute fiasco has been trimmed (mainly at the beginning and end), recut and retitled. Sure, the awkward mix of black comedy and psychological thriller - it's about a quiet insurance salesman whose taste for murder is awakened by the tensions of his giving up smoking - never quite plumbs the absurd depths of the earlier version, but the stilted dialogue, wooden performances, ugly visuals, and overall wrong-headedness, still make it a clinker. A shame, since the director's short films have been a joy.Author: GA
