From Time Out Film Guide

This celebration of car and comradeship is set during the peaceful 1974 Portuguese revolution. The heady days of politically idealistic youth are well evoked in a buddy movie of the road. Two friends in Paris decide to join the Lisbon uprising and en route pick up a now uneasily settled mutual former girlfriend. Adventures of the body and spirit ensue, but it's all attractively played and enjoyably watchable.
