From Time Out Film Guide

Purporting to be a biopic of Fred Fisher, composer of such '20s song hits as 'Come Josephine in My Flying Machine' and 'Who Paid the Rent for Mrs Rip Van Winkle', this is a stock Fox musical featuring Cuddles Sakall as a would-be classical composer distressed to have his operatic efforts turned into popular songs. Stahl's last film, it's something of a come-down from the glories of Leave Her to Heaven, made four years earlier; full of charm and attractive touches, all the same.
