Once Around (1991)
Director: Lasse Hallström
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Hallström's first Hollywood feature went belly-up at the US box office (it opened the weekend the Gulf War erupted) and emerged gingerly on video in Britain, but this rather overbearing romantic comedy is by no means a disaster. Hunter's the inexperienced heroine who travels to the Caribbean for a much-needed break after being dumped by her boyfriend, but the rebound brings brash salesman Dreyfuss her way, sweeping her off her feet and soon causing a deep rift with her close-knit family. Dreyfuss is even more obnoxious here than he was in Tin Men, but intentionally so, his eagerness to please driving everyone but Hunter nuts.Author: TJ
