One and One (1978)
Director: Erland Josephson, Sven Nykvist, Ingrid Thulin
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
One and one makes two: the message of this study of the social relationship between an odd couple (middle-aged woman artist and her bachelor cousin) is that good maths is bad psychology. From a script by Josephson, shot by Nykvist, and directed by Josephson, Nykvist and Thulin, the package just oozes prestige made in Bergmanland, but the film is full of silences and whispers signifying nothing, except perhaps Bergman's absence. In this case, one and one and one make zero.Author: SH
