Out for Justice (1991)
Director: John Flynn
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Hollywood bodyguard turned producer/star, Seagal sees this as a progression from the foundation of his action films (Above the Law, Hard to Kill, Marked for Death) to the higher ground of 'art'. If his career wasn't built on brawn and aikido skills, it would be tempting to challenge him on this. Okay, so the plot is 'character-driven' to the extent that his tough New York cop Gino has a problem: he's too busy beating up the baddies who whacked his best friend/partner to find a moment to patch up his rocky marriage. But if you cut the beatings, you wouldn't be left with much. Fans of unnecessarily graphic violence will love it, but if you're looking for 'art', look elsewhere.Author: CO'S
