The Farmer's Wife (1928)
Director: Alfred Hitchcock
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Charming comedy of rural manners, about a morose middle-aged farmer, having recently lost his wife, making inept and irascible attempts to find himself a new spouse. His final humble discovery of true love is signalled far too early in the film, but that doesn't destroy the effects of a great deal of subtle slapstick and witty caricature, especially in a marvellously sustained sequence at a tea-party.Author:
