Femme Fatale (1991)
Director: André Guttfreund
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Joseph (Firth) meets enigmatic Cynthia (Lisa Zane) at his nature centre. A brief courtship and marriage follow, but when Cynthia walks out on the eve of their honeymoon, the distraught groom embarks on a search of her old Los Angeles neighbourhood, and discovers that she is not who he thought she was. The path to discovery is difficult - not so much for Joseph as for the weary viewer. The camera roves around a landscape scattered with affected sycophants and wide-eyed drug dealers before jolting on, periodically, into flashbacks of life in the countryside. With each bizarre revelation, the film descends further into hysterical nonsense.Author: CM
