From Time Out Film Guide

A poor Brazilian trapper sees the lucrative sale of four rare chimpanzees as his pathway to marital happiness with high maintenance widow De Carvalho, but after a perilous journey to the city to find a buyer he realises he's formed a stronger relationship with his primate pals than he's ever had with his would-be bride. Modest but not unpleasing tropical adventure with a strong eco-friendly message and eye-catching location work.
