Laborious thriller about a formula for synthetic fuel which reaches back to the Nazi past and forward to contemporary terrorism. Avildsen and Steve Shagan (scripting from his own novel) go wildly astray in trying to mine some more of the breast-beating vein they opened up in Save the Tiger, with Brando playing some particularly loony tunes as the tycoon who orates in defence of big business and power games.Author: TM
