The Four Feathers (1939)
Director: Zoltan Korda
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Classic British imperialist adventure, about a man accused of cowardice and redeeming himself through lofty heroics during the Sudan campaign of the 1890s. Produced by Alexander Korda, and directed by his brother Zoltan with flair and imagination, it's a typically polished vehicle for saluting a certain British mythology, with a rousing score by Miklos Rosza, superb Technicolor camerawork by a crew that included Périnal and Jack Cardiff, and solid performances all round. The fourth (and best) version of AEW Mason's ripping yarn, previously filmed in 1915, 1921 and 1929.Author: GA
