A documentary on the industrial process known as film-making, specifically on the manufacture of a product called From Dusk to Dawn. Kelly chats to assistants, grips, drivers, extras, the paparazzi. We get unshutuppable Tarantino, comically intense Keitel and Rodriguez strumming his guitar while issuing bits of direction. Though From Dusk to Dawn was shot with a non-union crew, the feared hordes of protesting Teamsters never materialised. The big impression is of everyone taking their cue from the juvenile nature of the script they're filming and having a great time even when they're having a lousy time. Engrossing enough, but it's a pity the questioning didn't extend to broader issues than George Clooney's sex life.Author: BBa
