Back Alley Princes (1972)
Director: Lo Wei
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A socially conscious comedy which may not handle its gags with much subtlety, but does manage to portray, with deliberate casualness, life lived on the edge of desperation in Hong Kong as it charts the supposedly carefree lives of two jaunty street kids (one of whom is a girl dressed as a boy) who stage minor con-jobs for a living. The fringes of the action are littered with the activities of small-time gamblers, pimps and hustlers, while the world of bar hostesses and sexual profiteering is shown without recourse to histrionics.Author: VG
