Battle Hymn (1957)
Director: Douglas Sirk
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Hudson plays a preacher who trains fighter pilots in Korea. Problem is, he is plagued with guilt for bombing a German orphanage during WWII, and sure enough a bunch of orphaned Orientals show up wanting shelter from Commie attacks. Pure sentimental slop, with accompanying choral music. Apparently based on a true story; the biggest joke is that Hudson's character is a certain Colonel Hess.Author: ATu
