Une Belle Fille comme moi (1972)
Director: François Truffaut
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Truffaut's weakest movie, a black comedy which totally misfires. Lafont languishes in prison and relates to a sociologist (Dussollier) her life of crime, which begins with patricide (at the age of nine) and goes down from there. While there is nothing objectionable about the story - she is a real slut and the men are an awful lot who get their just deserts, thus sidestepping charges of misogyny - Truffaut miscalculates the tone. He was normally the most civilised of directors, but this is a loud and crude film.Author: ATu
