White man invents the blues! Not even that, actually: White man sings Tin Pan Alley medley, as Bing Crosby's quintet takes the New Orleans jazz scene by storm, aided by Mary Martin and red-hot trumpet man Brian Donlevy. Real jazz presence comes in the form of Jack Teagarden and his trombone, and for anyone expecting at least some black presence in the birth of the blues, Eddie 'Rochester' Anderson plays Bing's loyal factotum.Author: DO
