Blow Dry (2000)
Director: Paddy Breathnach
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Presumably, this barely amusing, would-be-whimsical Anglo-American blah from the writer of The Full Monty started out along familiar but workable lines, the occasion of the National Hair Championships in glamorous Keighley offering an opportunity for a divided family to put aside differences, make a stand in the face of terminal illness and relish their underdog status in the competition. The direction, however, makes this as calculating as it sounds; and, lacking any emotional pull, it has only the imagined comic value of crazy hairstyles to fall back on. The cast deliver the basics and little more.Author: TJ
