Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

A controversial film in its time, this now looks hilariously dated. It's a prototype youth movie about kids who Go Too Far, with Lynley and de Wilde having to face the consequences of her pregnancy. The backstreet abortionist is naturally presented as the summit of all depravity, and the pair seem idiotically naive by present standards, but it does carry '50s atmosphere and the performances (Lynley especially) aren't too bad. But unlike Nicholas Ray's Rebel Without a Cause, there is no attempt here to come within a thousand miles of the real problems of adolescence.
