Booty Call (1997)
Director: Jeff Pollack
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A teen friendly sitcom stretched to cinema length. Two soul brothers want to score before the night's out: bland Rushon (Davidson) with his demure girl Nikki (Jones), and big mouth Bunz (Jamie Foxx) with her classy, but wild best friend, Lysterine (Vivica A Fox). The hip-hop soundtrack may be full of new tunes, but racial stereotypes abound and the battle of the sexes strikes a wretchedly familiar note. As in: Woman with moustache, she scary. Woman in fussy lingerie, she sexy! Or: Men will do anything to get sex, but clever women use it as a bargaining chip. Very occasionally, there's a surreal sparkle. 'You go to a club and a girl looks great,' Bunz explains. 'Come high noon, there's a sea donkey climbing into your car!' But don't hold your breath.Author: CO'Su
