Brannigan (1975)
Director: Douglas Hickox
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Wayne playing national monument (in the guise of a Chicago cop) is exported to London to get his man and take in the sights. What follows is flatly predictable: some grousing about wearing neckties in the Garrick Club; tedious 'language' problems; relentless use of tourist locations and some jokey fisticuffs in a pub brawl that's geared solely for the American market.Author: CPe

- Posted on Feb 09 2011 22:45 If you want a glimpse at London back in 1974/75, and a good storyline, then this film BRANNIGAN is for you and not to be missed. For me there was only one scene that I did not like but we'll leave it at that. This film is a great advert for London and it has given me a new found respect why it good to preserve major landmarks for the next generation. The scene along the river to the right of Big Ben remain virtually unchanged. Notice the cars. If you love London, why not visit the famous landmarks in this film. Some locations may no longer exist, but what great fun you’ll have discovering them and taking pictures and showing your friends. This is a great film for tourists and will rekindle Londoners love for this great city. The fight scene at Leadenhall Market is well worth a visit and have pictures taken outside this famous pub in the film - one to show all your friends and family.
