Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Hill's first attempt at straight comedy is less than happy. Pryor is the pitcher for the Hackensack Bulls baseball team, suddenly left $300 million in a will. But he first has to spend 30 million in a month without revealing the wheeze and ending up with no assets. The ideas here aren't nearly up to the scratch that writers Herschel Weingrod and Timothy Harris established in Trading Places. That the story has been filmed successfully seven times previously might have sounded warning bells that a more modernist treatment was called for than simply updating the amount involved to take inflation into account.
