Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

First in Paramount's series of B movies devoted to 'Sapper' HC McNeile's British ex-army officer with a taste for adventure. A fine if familiarly atmospheric opening as our hero, driving through the inescapable English fog, is hailed by a damsel in distress, has his car stolen from under his nose, and finds a corpse lurking in the marshes. Thereafter the scene shifts to a country mansion complete with the usual equipment ranging from shifty butler to secret passages, and everything begins to creak audibly.
