Cannibal (1976)
Director: Ruggero Deodato
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
An oil prospector is captured in a remote Philippine rain forest by a tribe of stone age cannibals, and imprisoned until rescued by the inevitable lustful lady cannibal. Cheapo exploitation director Deodato takes his 'true story' plot, average exploiter rituals and distinctly paunchy hero far too seriously for the film not to be laughable despite its two strong ingredients: excellent cro-magnon acting and a surprising amount of 'frank' (because anthropological?) male nudity.Author: CA
