The Cat From Outer Space (1978)
Director: Norman Tokar
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Disney contribution to the 'we are not alone' syndrome. Billed as a 'Close Encounter of the Furred Kind', it concerns the plight of extra-terrestrial talking cat Jake, when his giant ladybird craft crash-lands on Earth. Despite Jake's paranormal powers, he has to enlist some local boffins to assist in a little spaceship maintenance. Ranged against them is the mighty US Army, and a megalomaniac villain (straight out of Goldfinger) bent on collaring the cat. Routine hi-jinks ensue, mixing strangely with ecology consciousness-raising, pseudo-scientific jargon, and everyday telekinesis.Author: FF
