China Clipper (1936)
Director: Ray Enright
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Warner Bros salutes American technology and enterprise in this humdrum but engaging drama about one of the early heroes of aviation. O'Brien, the most solemn star on the lot (he was generally cast as cop or priest), is the hero, an industrious businessman determined to build up a Transpacific air route. Like all such success stories, this one begins in failure. But doughty O'Brien tries and tries again until his vision is made reality. If he neglects his wife and family, that's only because he is in pursuit of the American dream - nothing must stand between him and his manifest destiny.Author: GM
