The City Under the Sea (1965)
Director: Jacques Tourneur
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Tacky Jules Verne-ish adventure inspired by Poe's poem 'The City in the Sea', with Price as The Captain (obviously kin to Nemo) kidnapping a girl he takes to be the reincarnation of his dead wife and bringing her to the lost city of Lyonesse under the sea. A sad disappointment as Tourneur's last film, with occasional imaginative touches (but surprisingly little atmosphere) and a dismal cast (Price excepted), although the narrative keeps going perkily enough.Author: TM
