The Clinic (1982)
Director: David Stevens
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
An Australian comedy about the clap is bound to produce premature conclusions. In fact, this is a million kangaroo hops from the chundering humour of Barry McKenzie and similarly broad Ozports. If it weren't for the obviously still taboo nature of the subject matter, the film would be an excellent TV series pilot, a medical cousin to Barney Miller. Strong playing from the amiable Haywood as the harassed gay doctor in charge, Burke as his potentially rednecked student trainee. The laughter is infectious, and there aren't too many herpes jokes.Author: GD
