Come and Get It (1936)
Director: Howard Hawks, William Wyler
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Minor Hawks (the last ten minutes were directed by Wyler) in which a 19th century Wisconsin lumber magnate and his son fight for the love of Frances Farmer - daughter of a woman the father once knew. The emphasis on professionalism and definition of character through action (work) is typical Hawks. Good performances all round, especially from Farmer in a dual role. Sadly, the location photography (Gregg Toland, Rudolph Maté) is poorly integrated with the jarringly set-bound dramatic scenes.Author: NF
