Crocodile Dundee II (1988)
Director: John Cornell
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
In the mega-hit series league, the trick is to keep the bits that went down well. Thus writer/producer/star Hogan has retained instances of the naive Natural Man in the metropolis: he falls off a ledge on learning that a would-be suicide is driven by unrequited gay love, and fishes with dynamite off New York's Battery. Back home in the outback, he repeats the sophisticated Aborigines stuff -'It needs garlic', comments one, crouching over some unspeakable tucker. But there's little time for character in this standard issue plot about a rascally coke baron (Ubarry) trying to recover incriminating evidence from Dundee's sheila (Kozlowski). The violence is still pleasantly paddling-pool stuff, but the disarming G'day factor has been pasteurised away.Author: BC
