Curse of the Pink Panther (1983)
Director: Blake Edwards
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
An abysmal cash-in from a bunch of people who really ought to have known better. The Pink Panther diamond has been stolen again, and with Inspector Clouseau missing (Peter Sellers was deceased), a computer conducts a search to find a detective skilled enough to track him down. Twitchy former boss Lom has nobbled the technology, however, so that the world's worst sleuth is selected, whereupon Wass makes the transition from TV's Soap for a charisma-free turn as bumbling NYPD man Clifton Sleigh. Intrigue continues apace, with tedious complications and flat slapstick taking in a roster of the series' former stars doing tired cameos. A frail Niven made a last screen appearance.Author: TJ
