Caution was obviously still the watchword for Menzel after his political troubles. Charming but desperately thin, like Those Wonderful Movie Cranks this is a period comedy, set in a provincial brewery and working very hard to extract some fun out of the local dignitaries who serve on the board. A gorgeous performance from Vasáryová, as a local beauty delighting in her bounteous sensuality, lends a welcome touch of Maupassant to the rustic frolics.Author: TM
