A deliciously torrid melo in which the solidarity of a group of prostitutes - based onmutual anarchy, and the threat of torture and humiliation for anyone who offers a freebie - disintegrates when they shelter a criminal whom they all fall for. Fascinating for its lurid colour-coding, theatrical lighting, quirky editing, and the overall artifice of design, which revels in both the dog-eat-dog decrepitude of post-war Tokyo and the bitter, sweaty mood of sado-masochistic cruelty.Author: GA
