Matthew Kidman (Hirsch) is a straight-A student, headed for Georgetown Univesity with dreams of a career in politics. This being a teen film, he's never had fun, broken a rule, had sex or fallen in love. When Danielle (Cuthbert) moves next door, he thinks he's met the girl of his dreams. But he soon discovers she's the girl of many boys' dreams - Danielle is a porn star. Had The Girl Next Door stuck to the Pretty Woman/Risky Business path, it might have been an entertaining if familiar film. But once the premise is set up, it starts to wander. The action hops between a Vegas porn industry convention, Matthew's efforts to win a college scholarship, a Vietnamese village and prom night. The original love story vanishes in a swamp of extraneous plot threads.Author: AF

- Posted on May 04 2009 22:18 I saw this movie a few months ago on tv and it was really good. It started off like a romantic comedy but it changed a lot and the end result was very funny! This is a must see movie even if it seems a bit wierd to begin with. I have now seen it three times and watch it whenever it comes on tv!
