A Global Affair (1963)
Director: Jack Arnold
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
What did poor Jack Arnold do to deserve this? Bob Hope plays a bachelor United Nations official, saddled with a foundling baby and flatulent wisecracks, who spurs furious competition between the 117 member nations - hitherto uninterested in welcoming the orphan - by announcing that it will be awarded to the best and most deserving country. All patch up their differences to applaud his eventual decision to adopt the little charmer himself (surprise, surprise) after marrying Michèle Mercier. Nobody is likely to applaud anything else, except perhaps a brief flare from Lilo Pulver as a Russian gynaecologist.Author: TM
