A particularly desperate addition to the cycle of buddy-cop pics, in which LAPD workhorse Hall (who's filled out somewhat from his geeky John Hughes days) finds himself teamed with one of the little people (a creature who's burrowed up from beneath the earth in search of a life-giving crystal) to track down some diamond thieves.
