Going in Style (1979)
Director: Martin Brest
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
The director of Beverly Hills Cop and Scent of a Woman made an auspicious start to a Hollywood career as a purveyor of neatly crafted commercial undertakings with this warm and entertaining story of old codgers Burns, Carney and Strasberg hitting back at the society that's abandoned them by successfully robbing a Manhattan bank. A trio of contrasting personalities, the veterans bring both a mischievous wit and a sense of subdued anger to a familiar comic plotline, and the film achieves a rare balance of laughter and compassion.Author: TJ
