Good Morning, Miss Dove (1955)

From Time Out Film Guide

Sentimental but professionally assembled classroom chronicle follows much-loved spinster schoolma'm Jennifer Jones through generations of diverse pupils at a small town high school, before a spine tumour sends her to hospital where surgeon Stack, a former student, must undertake a risky operation to save her. Few sharp edges, but just the thing for a homespun Sunday afternoon wallow.

Posted on Apr 17 2008 02:43 It was just before school started in 1955 I was going into the sixth grade. My Grandmother had just passed away and I was desolate. My mother had not played a large part in my life since she worked fourteen hour days and I was always sleeping when she got home and when she went to work. Mother took me shopping for school clothes and the movie Good Morning Miss Dove. I treasured the day and would love to have a copy of the movie.
