The Groundstar Conspiracy (1972)
Director: Lamont Johnson
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Johnson fashions a neatly edgy film out of an investigation into sabotage at a space research plant, where the blank mind of an amnesiac (Sarrazin) lies at the centre of the mystery. With an excess of surveillance hardware on display, the film carefully sows the seeds of paranoia, and expresses grave doubts about the morality of security control as Peppard's security agent goes about his enquiry answerable to no one. Apart from one lapse into the field of human emotions, the script deals intelligently with the programmed responses of its automaton-like characters.Author:
