Pack Up Your Troubles (1932)
Director: George Marshall, Raymond McCarey
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
The second Laurel and Hardy feature, admittedly patchy but generally underrated. Perhaps because, after the rumbustious army farce of the beginning, it switches to a quieter vein of sentimental comedy as the boys fulfil a promise to deliver a dead comrade's little daughter to the care of her wealthy grandparents (only clue, the family name is Smith). Best moment is when Stan tries to tell the child a bedtime story and finds himself sleepily on the receiving end. Look out for director Marshall's cameo as a bad-tempered army cook.Author: TM
