Park Row (1952)
Director: Samuel Fuller
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
This early Fuller drama matches his tabloid style to the story of a newspaper war between two proprietors in 1886. It's compulsive for its insider's knowledge, and passion for the press, but is mostly memorable for a roller-coaster type tracking shot of a fight scene that is pure cinema. The mood is set early: a guy in a bar jumps off Brooklyn Bridge to provide a front page story. When he returns from the jump (alive), the journalist in question has been sacked. A tough world.
