The Philadelphia Experiment (1984)
Director: Stewart Raffill
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A time-travel yarn of the 'past arrives in the present' persuasion. Two WWII sailors involved in some early radar experiment tumble through the decades into 1984. The 'what the hell's happened?' passages are, as usual, more diverting than the 'what the hell can we do about it?' scenes, the latter involving merely flashing lights, showers of sparks and talk of imploding vortexes. Much more fun is the spectacle of Young 1943 trying to work out why the US President looks vaguely familiar, and how come the folks in the diner are hardly glancing at a television, on which a noisy monster is assaulting a bare-breasted starlet.Author: BBa

- Posted on Mar 06 2009 15:01 Another 'True Story'. This one, I can well believe when you read the story behind it! Sligtly dramatized as you would expect but wow, if that was possible in the forties it makes you wonder what there doing now!!! It's rater oddly cast, but worth a watch. The ending is really disappointing - far too predictable!!
