A Place of One's Own (1945)
Director: Bernard Knowles
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Tame but occasionally effective ghost story (an adaptation from Osbert Sitwell), set in Edwardian times, with Lockwood as the young secretary haunted by a murdered woman when she goes to live with an elderly couple (Mason and Mullen) in an elegant country house. Not a patch upon Knowles' loony but marvellous Jassy, although Lockwood and Mason are as effortlessly professional as ever.Author: GA
