Play Dirty (1968)
Director: André De Toth
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A workmanlike rip-off of The Dirty Dozen, with Caine leading a group of ex-criminals in an attack on a German supply dump in North Africa during WWII. The script, by Lotte Colin and a certain Melvyn Bragg, aims for grand anti-war rhetoric. De Toth keeps the action going well, and the end is great - forgetting that they are wearing German uniforms, our surviving lads break cover to take a bow and get mown down by friendly fire. Ironic, huh?Author: ATu
