Portrait of a Young Girl at the End of the '60s in Brussels (1993)
Director: Chantal Akerman
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A semi-autobiographical portrait of a young girl's final day at school - she quits, that is - in 1968, which she spends playing hookie with a young army deserter she meets at a cinema, and later partying with him and her best pal Danièle (who may be her secret love). It's a talky movie, shot on the hoof through the streets of Brussels. Fresh, gentle and touching, not at all 'minimalist'.Author:
