Bo Widerberg had just scandalised his native industry with a book criticising Ingmar Bergman's domination of the Swedish cinema when he turned out his first feature as writer/director. This story of a female drifter vacillating between two lovers, an intellectual and a pop singer, has, it could be said, a more contemporary feel than Bergman's work from the same period. But really - a mouse scraping at the cathedral door.Author: TJ
