From Time Out Film Guide

A sci-fi action picture based on the novel Slimmer by John Brosnan (alias Harry Adam Knight), this first feature by sfx wizard Keen wisely allows only glimpses of its mutant creature before delivering a monstrous finale. Stranded on an oil rig, six shipwrecked drug smugglers stumble on a secret DNA manipulation lab. Roaming the rig is the resultant abomination, a protean creature that absorbs its victims and their characteristics. Gung-ho hero Fairbrass plays the action scenes to the hilt; scary atmosphere sustained by watery images and gloopy effects.
